Our Mission is to:
End childhood sexual assault by breaking the silence.
End childhood sexual assault by breaking the silence.
We set out to change the world and make primary childhood sexual abuse prevention a reality for humanity.
Experiencing child sexual abuse (CSA) can affect how a person thinks, acts, and feels over a lifetime. This can result in short and long-term consequences, such as substance abuse, mental illness, and chronic physical conditions, such as heart disease, obesity and cancer.
Resources for CSA have mostly focused on treatment for victims and criminal justice-oriented approaches for perpetrators. These efforts are important after child sexual abuse has occurred. But little investment has been made in preventing child sexual abuse. Enter…Brave Voices.
We contribute directly to the reduction of sexual harm to children by developing, evaluating and implementing evidence-based CSA primary prevention strategies, specifically in breaking the cycle of silence and normalizing the conversation around CSA prevention, as well as distributing and implementing these resources into local communities and organizations throughout the country.
At Brave Voices we learn to Speak Up, Listen, and Honor those who dare to break the cycle.
Brave Voices breaks the cycle of silence that perpetuates childhood sexual abuse. Every adult contributes to the reduction of harm by speaking up. Join the Brave Voices Movement. Use your voice to normalize the conversation.
We at Brave Voices believe not just parents, but all adults – families and our communities – are responsible for ensuring that children have safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
